Mothra (1961) Review
One of the biggest standout elements of this film that makes it so different from previous kaiju films Toho released is that it set a new trend for them going forward. Mothra was not just another mindless monster rampaging through cities only to be killed by the armed forces at the end.

Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero (1995) Series Review
Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero (Ultraman Powered) had the ambition to bring the Ultra franchise to American audiences, complete with updated kaiju designs and a new defense team. Unfortunately, stiff fight choreography, a forgettable musical score, and an Ultra host who feels non-essential hold the series back from reaching its potential.

Nezura 1964 (2020) Review
In the video review below, Dan and Frank discuss Nezura 1964 (2020), a Japanese kaiju film that dramatizes the chaotic and ultimately failed Daiei production of the infamous lost monster movie Giant Horde Monster Nezura. Considered one of the most notorious unrealized kaiju projects in Japanese film history, Giant Horde Monster Nezura was shut down due to production disasters, serious health concerns, and mounting controversy. Nezura 1964 reimagines those events, blending b

Monster Apperances: Giant Octopus , Megalodon, Snappers, Tyrannosaurus Rex In this review, we dive back into The Meg film series with Meg 2: The Trench (2023), the sequel that takes everything the original did and cranks the absurdity up to entirely new levels. While the first film balanced blockbuster ac

The Meg (2018) Review
Between Jason Statham doing what he does best as an action hero, a massive prehistoric shark tearing through the ocean, and nods to classic shark movies like Jaws, The Meg succeeds by embracing exactly what it is: a fun, over-the-top shark romp. If you’re looking for the perfect summer escape movie, this one still delivers.

Love & Peace (2015) Review
Pikadon Monster Apperances: Pikadon In this review, we take a look at Love & Peace , a kaiju Christmas movie that is far better than it has any right to be. Directed by Sion Sono, this offbeat film blends giant monster mayhem with heartfelt emotion, absurd comedy, and a surprising amount of sincerity. Ryo & Pikadon At its core, Love & Peace tells a deeply human story wrapped in a bizarre kaiju package. The film follows Ryo, a quirky, deeply lonely, failed musician whose lif

King Kong Escapes (1967) Review
Monster Appearances: Giant Sea Snake , Gorosaurus , King Kong, Mechani-Kong Mechani-Kong King Kong Escapes (1967) stands out as one of the most unique films in King Kong’s long cinematic history. Sure, King Kong had already made his Tokusatsu debut against Godzilla in King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) , but Toho decided to give it another swing this time Kong was the sole headliner. Even though there was no Godzilla, this film still featured plenty of monsters. Ofcourse the hig
