New Mech vs Kaiju Series Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol Heads to Kickstarter

A new indie Mecha vs Kaiju comic series is about to storm Kickstarter March 3rd! Chris Yates’ story is brought to life with art by Simone Ragazzoni with colors by Antonio Artro and words to page by Letter Taylor Esposito in Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol. Kaiju fans, especially those with a love for mecha and tokusatsu storytelling, will want to keep an eye on this project. According to the official description:

"In MARCUS WALKER: KINGSLAYER PROTOCOL, a comic that explores themes of family and self-discovery through Mech vs Kaiju action, an ideal match for fans of Ultraman: Rising, Big Hero Six, and Power Rangers."

Ultraman, Power Rangers, and Big Hero Six make for a strong blend of tokusatsu and henshin hero inspired influences, and it’s an exciting foundation for this 48-page comic. Artist Simone Ragazzoni is no stranger to the tokusatsu genre, having previously worked on Power Rangers Universe, Robotech, and Dune: House Corrino, making Kingslayer Protocol a natural fit for him.

The Kickstarter campaign will feature six exclusive variant covers, along with a seventh digital-only cover, from notable comic artists including Sean Murphy, Siya Oum, Rob Guillory, and Kevin Keane. Beyond the covers, the interior pages shown so far suggest the series is shaping up to be a visual spectacle. If all that isn't enough an Artist’s Edition will also be available, paying tribute to manga aesthetics with a black-and-white cover and halftone interior artwork.

Between the wide range of variant covers, 12 different campaign tiers, add-ons, and original interior art options, there are plenty of ways to experience the world of Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol. All of this content will be exclusive to Kickstarter backers, making this a true collector-focused release that won’t be available in stores.
