Monster Name: Sadola (Sadolar / Sadora)
Monster Appearances: Return of Ultraman, Ultraman Mebius, Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle, Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie, Ultra Zero Fight, Ultraman Ginga S, Ultraman X, Redman
Sadola is a large, reptilian kaiju that stands on two legs and features massive pincers on both its hands and feet. One of Sadola’s most dangerous abilities is its electromagnetic fog, which it uses to cloak itself from view while also disrupting nearby electronic devices. In combat, Sadola relies heavily on its powerful pincers, capable of cutting, crushing, and tearing through its opponents with tremendous force.
The first known Sadola appeared in the mountains of Japan following reports of missing hikers. Using its electromagnetic fog, the monster concealed itself while preying on climbers and travelers. It’s believed Sadola may have lived in these mountains for many years, as local legends spoke of a dragon that fed on anyone who trespassed into the area.
When MAT arrived to investigate, only Go Hideki (Ultraman Jack) was able to see and hear the monster through the fog. Later, the MAT captain returned alone to gather more evidence and was attacked by Sadola. Shortly afterward, another monster Detton appeared, and the two kaiju began fighting each other over who would claim the injured captain as prey.
Ultraman Jack soon arrived, prompting Sadola and Detton to temporarily join forces against him. While Sadola managed to last slightly longer than Detton in battle, it was ultimately defeated when Ultraman Jack used his Ultra Slash, decapitating the monster.
Visually, Sadola is a striking and memorable kaiju, though it doesn’t prove to be particularly effective in one-on-one combat against Ultraman Jack. Sadola lacks any true long-range attacks, relying mainly on its pincers and a tail whip to keep enemies at bay. Its electromagnetic fog was likely its greatest survival tool, allowing it to hide from stronger predators in ancient times.
As evidenced by Sadola’s many appearances across the Ultra Series, this was far from the last of its species. This profile will be updated as more Sadola appearances are revisited.
