While attending Kaiju Brooklyn this year, we picked up King of Justice: Dasher Blue Issue 1 from Moon Lair Studios, and it instantly stood out as something special. This indie manga captures the spirit of late ’80s and early ’90s anime, blended with classic Henshin Hero influences, both in its storytelling and visual style.
From the very first pages, Dasher Blue delivers a fast-paced, action-packed experience that wastes no time pulling readers into its world. Fans of vintage tokusatsu-inspired anime will feel right at home.
The story is exciting and easy to jump into, striking a strong balance between heroics and spectacle without becoming overly complicated. It introduces a world that feels familiar in the best way, while still leaving plenty of room to grow. By the end of the issue, the battle is only just getting started, leaving us eagerly awaiting the outcome of Dasher Blue’s first major fight in the next issue.
King of Justice: Dasher Blue Issue 1 is a great example of how indie manga can successfully channel classic influences while still carving out its own identity. If you’re a fan of Henshin Heroes, tokusatsu-style action, or creator-driven manga projects, this is absolutely worth checking out.
