Yongary is a monster that walks on two legs and has a reptile-like appearance. Yongary has a horn that sticks out of its snout which can fire a beam strong enough to slice through metal. Yongary also has a spiked tail used to smash and knock down buildings. Spinal plates run down Yongary’s back, and the monster’s thick hide can withstand tank artillery and most man-made weapons. Yongary also has the ability to shoot fire from its mouth.

Before Yongary rose from the earth, it was believed that the creature was just a myth. The story said Yongary was a monster that lived under the Earth’s surface and had the ability to control earthquakes. When Yongary finally emerged, we learned that it was actually the monster’s massive body moving underground that caused the earthquakes Yongary didn’t truly control them.

After rampaging through Korea, Yongary was ultimately defeated when the military sprayed it with an ammonia precipitate mixture. Yongary fought to cling to life, but the poison from the ammonia was too strong for the monster to survive.
