This episode starts with a man breaking into a greenhouse, but he quickly flees when he realizes the greenhouse contains a special breed of bees. Shortly afterward, tremors and earthquakes begin occurring in the nearby area. After a train crash, we learn that the bees produce a special honey that causes rapid growth. A mole manages to get into the greenhouse when the glass was broken and eats some of the bees, quickly growing into a gigantic creature later referred to as Mongular the Giant Mole.

We also discover that one of the scientists who worked with the greenhouse bees purposely broke in out of jealousy, trying to sabotage the operation because his colleague was getting all the recognition for the breakthrough. Realizing his mistake, he attempts to enter Mongular’s cave with TNT, sacrificing himself, but the explosives fail to stop the mole.

The military then engages Mongular with tanks and rockets. Their attacks cause the tunnels the mole dug to collapse near a volcanic line. Mongular falls into the lava as the ground crumbles beneath him, ending the threat.

This episode was really fun, especially the battle sequences at the end with tanks and rockets. I noticed they reused some footage from Rodan for the volcanic scene, which was a nice little Easter egg. Mongular is a simple kaiju design a giant mole with no special powers aside from its ability to dig deep underground. Another great episode of Ultra Q in the books!
