In 2025 from November 15-23, Ultraman made a rare and exciting live appearance in the United States with a live stage show at the American Dream Mall. For U.S. based Ultraman fans, this event marked a truly special moment, bringing one of Japan’s most iconic heroes off the screen and into a real-world setting for the first time in the United States!

While Ultraman has had minor performance and costume appearances at San Diego Comic Con & New York Comic Con, nothing compared to this. This was a full live show, completely free for everyone. We were lucky enough to attend the November 22 performances, and it was an unforgettable experience.

The performance delivered everything Ultraman fans would want from Ultraman's heroic battles, classic tokusatsu spectacle, interactive moments that kept the crowd engaged from start to finish, and most importantly the Kaiju and Ultras themselves! Designed as a family-friendly event, the show welcomed longtime fans and newcomers alike. The audience was filled with young children, parents, and grandparents proving Ultraman’s lasting appeal across generations. Throughout the day, show staff handed out Ultraman Omega masks to kids, and there were meet and greets opportunities with the Ultras and Kaiju, adding to the magic and making this event even more memorable.

Seeing Ultraman in a live environment adds a different level of excitement that simply can’t be replicated on screen, it makes it feel real. As an adult, this was probably this was probably the closest feeling to being a kid again, like meeting Santa at the mall during the holidays. There was a sense of magic that felt almost unreal. The shared energy of the crowd, the performance itself, and the shared enthusiasm made this a truly unforgettable experience. Events like this highlight the growing presence of tokusatsu in the U.S. and show just how strong the fanbase has become here.

On top of the performances and meet and greets, there was even more to experience to be had throughout the event. The entire section where the show was held was fully enclosed and transformed into an Ultraman showcase, with walls decorated in Ultraman characters and displays throughout the space.

Fans could explore showcases of Ultraman figures and merchandise, detailed dioramas depicting Kaiju and Ultra battles, and a suit gallery featuring the Ultra Brothers. Towering over the center of the event was a giant Ultraman statue, watching over the festivities and serving as an impressive centerpiece for the entire experience.

There was also an interactive area where attendees could learn and play the Ultraman Trading Card Game, along with a dedicated booth selling toys and merchandise not yet available anywhere else in the U.S. Dan’s son has become a big Ultraman fan this year, and this event ended up being the perfect place to pick up several items that ultimately became some of his favorite Christmas gifts.

This live show was a moment many fans who were lucky enough to attend will never forget. We sincerely hope that it becomes a yearly event at the American Dream Mall, giving even more fans the chance to experience Ultraman in person and introducing Ultraman to newcomers who may then become new fans!
