Monster Name: Suflan (Sunflan)

TV Appearances: Ultraman Episodes 8 & 26, Ultraseven Episode 18

Suflan, also known as Sunflan, is a bloodthirsty monster tree that uses its long vines to grab prey and drain their blood. In Ultraman Episode 8, “Monster Lawless Zone,” Suflan captured three members of the Science Patrol but was quickly defeated when the team burned off its vines using their ray guns. Suflan later appeared again in Episode 26 attacking scientist its continuing its legacy as one of the series’ eeriest plant-based kaiju.

Suflan would make yet another appearance in Ultraseven Episode 18, where it was revealed that Suflan was created by the Alien Bell in Dimension X. This appearance is especially notable, as Suflan is the only kaiju from the original Ultraman series to reappear in Ultraseven. Despite its limited strength, Suflan’s vampiric feeding habits and unsettling design have secured it a lasting place among classic tokusatsu monsters.
