Monster Appearance: Howl From Beyond The Fog

Nebula is a sauropod-style monster that dwells in the lake of a small village on Kyushu Island. This four-legged dinosaur has a long neck and a massive body overgrown with moss and algae, so thick that fallen tree limbs can rest on its back. Nebula’s primary strengths are its sheer size, power, and nearly impervious hide, which makes it resistant to gunfire and cannon blasts. Its only displayed special ability is inhaling a fog cloud to blast attackers off a bridge.

For centuries, Nebula slumbered peacefully in the lake until a nearby village’s growing population disturbed it. Its first attacks involved two men on a rope bridge, sparking local myths about the monster. A blind girl named Takiri befriended Nebula, soothing it with nightly songs.

Conflict arose when developers building a dam tried to drown Takiri. Their actions, combined with gunfire from other villagers, enraged Nebula. The monster went on a destructive rampage, killing the dam developers, villagers, and even Takiri’s aunt, ultimately destroying the village. Once the final threat was eliminated, Nebula returned to the lake to resume its slumber, awaiting the next disturbance.
