Namegon are giant slug-like creatures from space. The first Namegon appeared after a thief accidentally dropped one of its eggs into a hot spring, where the heat caused it to grow and hatch.

Namegon’s only known ability is the power to shoot deadly energy beams from its eyes, capable of killing humans instantly. However, despite its dangerous attack, Namegon has a major weakness—salt water. Much like an ordinary slug, contact with saltwater causes Namegon to dissolve rapidly.

Because of this vulnerability, Namegon is considered one of the easiest kaiju to defeat once its weakness is known. A simple method of defense would be to load a plane or crop duster with saltwater and spray Namegon from above, which would immediately destroy it.

A second Namegon egg hatched shortly after the first creature’s death, but it’s presumed to have been destroyed as well, since saltwater was being prepared at the time of its hatching.
