Larugeus is a white bird with the ability to shift between a small, ordinary-looking bird and a massive, building-sized creature. When angered or hungry, Larugeus transforms to hunt or defend itself. In its giant form, it can fly at extreme speeds, creating powerful winds that leave a path of destruction in its wake.

Larugeus first appeared at a zoo, where it killed the zookeeper and devoured all the animals. It then reverted to its small form and was discovered by a young boy, who befriended the creature, unaware of its danger. Larugeus protected the boy from local fishermen while also feeding on the village’s livestock. Authorities eventually captured it, which became enraged and transformed into its gigantic form once more, causing major destruction before flying out to sea. The creature had not been seen since, but it is believed to still be alive, possibly feeding on sea life as it soars over the ocean.

Larugeus later appeared in Shin Ultraman as one of the many S-Class Species emerging across Japan. It was seen soaring over the grounds of Matsumoto Castle, smashing buildings and kicking up debris with every powerful flap of its wings. Despite the chaos it caused, Larugeus managed to evade any form of military or scientific intervention, once again disappearing without being captured or detected.
