Monster Name: Kai Dragon

The Kai Dragon is a long, serpent-like dragon with the ability to fly and fire deadly flame bolts from its mouth. Created by Princess Otohime in her interdimensional underwater kingdom, the Kai Dragon originally began as a missile. When the boy riding Gameron chased after her, Otohime used her magical powers to transform the missile into the Kai Dragon.

The creature proved to be extremely powerful so powerful that it killed Gameron instantly with a single fire blast. The Kai Dragon never appeared again in the series, and it’s assumed that it still protects Otohime’s mysterious underwater realm.

Behind the scenes, the Kai Dragon was actually a reused Manda puppet from Atragon. While nearly identical in appearance, the Kai Dragon is smaller in scale compared to Manda.
