Monster Name: Gorgo
Movie Appearances: Gorgo
Gorgo is a theropod-like sea monster that walks on two legs. Gorgo has fin-like ears and large hands with sharp claws. Gorgo doesn’t have any special powers besides being a large, incredibly strong creature that’s nearly impervious to most weapons. It also has sharp claws and can stay underwater for long periods since the ocean is its natural habitat.
Gorgo appeared after a volcanic eruption off the shore of Nara Island, just off the coast of Ireland. When Gorgo first emerged, it was captured rather easily despite its size. Scientists later discovered that Gorgo was still just a child, which explained why it could be caught so quickly.
After being captured, Gorgo was transported to London and put on display as the main attraction in the Dorkin Circus. The monster drew huge crowds and tons of press attention, but the excitement didn’t last long. Scientists from Ireland soon revealed that if Gorgo was a baby, its parent would be much larger and they were right.
Not long after, Ogra, Gorgo’s mother, rose from the sea and attacked Nara Island while searching for her missing child. The small fishing village stood no chance Ogra destroyed everything in her path and then began marching toward London to rescue Gorgo.
After a massive battle and widespread destruction throughout London, Ogra finally found Gorgo. The two reunited and returned to the sea together, never to be seen again.
