Garamon is a giant android kaiju and easily one of the strangest-looking monsters in Ultra Q. Garamon is huge, walks on two legs, and has short arms with long, wiggly fingers that it flails around. In photos it might not look very intimidating, but once you actually see a Garamon moving, it becomes a surprisingly creepy kaiju. Its hiss is especially haunting once you’ve seen the destruction it can cause. Garamon doesn’t have any real special abilities it’s just extremely large, strong, and durable thanks to its android construction.
The first Garamon appeared after a Garadama crashed in the woods near a small village. Garadamas are small meteors launched by the Cicada Humans of Planet Q to scout out planets they might want to invade. When a Garadama lands on a planet, it sends out a signal that tells the Cicada Humans to deploy larger Garadamas that contain Garamon. Garamon is completely controlled by the signal being transmitted from the smaller Garadama. The first Garamon on Earth was only active for a short time, but it still managed to destroy a village and a large dam. It was finally stopped when the Garadama was covered with a signal-dampening cage once a Garamon loses that signal, it dies instantly.

The second encounter with Garamon happened when a group of Cicada Men came to Earth disguised as humans and stole the Garadama from the dampening cage. This time, multiple Garamons hatched right in the heart of Tokyo. Because the Garadama was stolen, it took time to track down the Cicada Men and recapture it. Meanwhile, the Garamon swarm practically leveled Tokyo, leaving massive destruction behind. Eventually, the Garadama was covered again and the Garamon stopped, but the damage was far worse this time. The Cicada Men never returned, and neither did their Garamon.
Years later, a much smaller kaiju species known as Pigmon was discovered in the Monster Lawless Zone. It’s theorized that the Cicada Humans might have used Pigmon or its DNA as the basis for creating the larger android Garamon. There’s no hard proof of this, but honestly, it’s a pretty strong theory.
Garamo made a return in Ultraman Blazar when another Garadama crashed into Futo City’s Tama River. SKaRD goes to investigate, but the Garadama cracks open and Garamon comes stumbling out, immediately proving to be way too fast and agile for Earth Garon Mod.2. Even the rail cannon and wide-area laser bounce right off its Tilsonite armor, and Garamon ends up damaging Earth Garon and taking it out of the fight.
Gento transforms into Ultraman Blazar, but even he struggles the Tilsonite armor is tough enough to break the Spiral Burrade, and Garamon’s high-pitch shockwave nearly brings Blazar down. Meanwhile, Anri discovers that a group of disguised Cicada Men are controlling Garamon with music. Once she cuts off their signal, Garamon freezes up and begins foaming at the mouth, giving Blazar the perfect opening to finish it with the Double Rainbow Slash.
Afterward, Garamon’s remains are recovered and used to create the Tilsonite Spear, which later becomes the Tilsonite Sword when Blazar channels Gebalga’s power through it.
