Balloonga is a space-born monster that resembles a floating brain. Initially, it was about the size of a party balloon, but after using its ability to absorb all of Tokyo’s energy and even energy from a typhoon it grew massive and became a serious threat to Earth.

Japan launched a rocket that created an artificial sun, which drew Balloonga away from Earth. The monster now remains in orbit, feeding on the artificial sun’s energy. It is theorized that Balloonga may have become a star after absorbing so much energy, leading to the idea that all stars could actually be Balloonga's that have consumed immense amounts of energy and now burn brightly.
