Earthtron
Monster Name: Arstron

Arstron are two-legged, reptilian-like monsters with nearly impenetrable skin. They have a large horn on top of their heads that they use to stab enemies, as well as a raised cartilage spine that runs down their backs from head to tail. Arstron can spit fire from their mouths in the form of a focused magma ray or fireballs. They also have the ability to burrow

underground and usually stay below the Earth’s surface when they aren’t wreaking havoc.

The first Arstron appeared in a small mountain village in Japan shortly after Takkong had defeated Zazahn. After years of peace, these monsters were among the first to begin appearing again across Japan. Arstron devastated the village by stomping through it and lighting it ablaze with its magma ray.

Ultraman Jack soon arrived on the scene and began fighting Arstron. Jack was nearly depleted by the battle before he finally managed to jump onto Arstron’s back and chop off its horn. As Arstron screamed in pain, Ultraman Jack grabbed it by the tail, swung it around, and threw it. While Arstron was recovering, Ultraman Jack fired his Specium Ray, causing the monster to fall and explode in flames.

The Arstron species definitely seems like one that ruled the Earth during the prehistoric age of monsters. With how many have survived and reappeared over time, they are clearly very resilient. I really love Arstron’s design it’s simple but still manages to be one of the coolest-looking Ultra monsters I’ve seen.

Later in Return of Ultraman, we are introduced to a monster called Ghostron, which is believed to be a related species. Ghostron wouldn’t stand much of a chance in a fight against Arstron, mainly due to its limited vision. As you can see from the long list of appearances, Arstron has shown up many times throughout the Ultra Series, and I’ll update this page as I continue to watch more of those appearances.
