Monster Profile: Alien Cool

Alien Cool is a squid-like extraterrestrial species from a planet suffering from severe resource depletion. The Cool are not giant kaiju, but rather intelligent alien beings, standing only 4–5 feet tall. They possess six arms ending in hook-like claws and a long, narrow, stingray-like tail.

Despite their smaller size, the Cool are highly advanced. They are capable of levitation and have perfected cloaking technology, which allows them to render both themselves and their spacecraft invisible. They even use this technology to hide their home planet from detection.

Facing extinction due to dwindling resources, the Cool launched an invasion of Earth with the goal of seizing its resources, enslaving humanity, and conducting experiments on humans. To force the Terrestrial Defense Force (TDF) into submission, the Cool used their invisible ships to destroy an oil refinery, spreading fear of an unseen enemy.

Their plan was ultimately exposed by Dan Moroboshi (Ultraseven), who devised a clever countermeasure. Ultra Guard aircraft sprayed paint into areas where the invisible ships were suspected to be, revealing the cloaked vessels. Once exposed, Ultraseven deployed his Capsule Monster Windom, which destroyed several Cool ships.

Ultraseven then directly confronted the remaining invaders, defeating them in combat. The invasion ended when Ultraseven used his Eye Slugger to slice the Cool invasion leader in half, wiping out the remaining forces and stopping the invasion.

Back on their home planet, the surviving Cool realized that Earth was no longer a viable option. With much of their invasion force destroyed and their planet’s resources continuing to decline, the future of the Cool species remains grim. It’s entirely possible that their world has since become a wasteland and that the Cool race has gone extinct.
